Seattle, WA – October 1, 2012 – Dinerware, a leading provider of restaurant point of sale software, today announced the release of version 3.3, which includes built-in gift card support, enhancements for table management, cash control, and business reporting. Version 3.3 also includes additions to the Virtual Client API, which will provide integration support to several new 3rd party products.

Dinerware version 3.3 introduces a built-in gift card capability that can be used (for single locations) with no additional transaction fees. Restaurants using Dinerware can now market and promote their business through the use of branded gift cards without any concern for per-swipe fees.

Dinerware’s new release also provides significant enhancements for table management. The system now provides the ‘host’ with a full view of the restaurant’s seating areas with real-time visibility of table status. This feature helps full service restaurateurs deliver a faster seating experience for walk-in guests and allow more efficient table turnover to grow their revenue and profitability. Using this feature, restaurateurs are now able to create custom floor maps from their own uploaded blueprints or actual pictures of their restaurant. Customized table buttons are placed on these images to provide a realistic and interactive floor map for restaurant employees to better serve their guests.

In addition to these significant enhancements, Dinerware has added more cash control reports, customization options to daily strip reports which can be instantly printed at any terminal’s receipt printer, and usability enhancements to make the growing list of system settings easy to access and change based on the unique characteristics of each restaurant concept supported by Dinerware.

Brian Baughman, Product Manager states, “I’m very proud of this release. We have put a lot of hard work into involving customers and Dinerware partners into the design and testing of this release and we believe customers will be very happy with the outcome.”

Rob Freytag, who leads Dinerware’s Channel efforts asserts, “Dinerware version 3.3 represents our ongoing efforts to add features to the product while keeping it the easiest to use software in the industry. We are excited to start promoting these new features to Dinerware’s worldwide community of partners and users.”

Dinerware sponsors Ryther group to attend FareStart Guest Chef Night featuring Jerry Traunfeld Thursday, December 1, 6pm

Seattle, WA – Dinerware, Inc., a leading developer of restaurant POS (point of sale) software, today announced its sponsorship of Ryther teens to attend the December 1st Guest Chef Night at FareStart featuring acclaimed chef, Jerry Traunfeld of Poppy.

Every Thursday night, a different Guest Chef works with FareStart’s students to prepare a three-course meal for over 200 guests served at the FareStart Restaurant. The three course meal and graduation ceremony is an opportunity for two organizations to bring together groups who face similar challenges with a single message of hope. The graduation ceremony, a highlight of the weekly Guest Chef Nights, celebrates the students who have completed FareStart’s job training program. The program provides disadvantaged men and women with job training and assistance with finding employment opportunities in the food service industry.

This evening also promises to bring the Ryther youths a message of encouragement at a crucial time in their lives. “Supporting FareStart and its mission to support homeless people to become self-sufficient is important and touches many of the teenage boys in our substance abuse inpatient program,” Marie MacCoy, Inpatient Substance Abuse Program Supervisor at Ryther. She continued, “We have teens that often don’t think they can achieve success and who don’t have social skills and job training. Many of our clients want to go into the culinary arts, and I think it will be great for our teen boys to see others who have had disadvantages change their lives and achieve what they set out to accomplish – I think it will inspire hope.”

FareStart welcomes the teens from Ryther. “We’re excited to have the Ryther and Dinerware group join us for Guest Chef Night. The students in our program come from many different walks of life and have overcome some incredible challenges,” Christina Starr, FareStart’s Marketing Communications Manager. “They are a wonderful example of what can be achieved despite significant obstacles.”

This year also marks Jerry Traunfeld’s third consecutive year participating in Guest Chef Night at FareStart. “I feel the direct connection with students of the program very rewarding. I was raised with the belief that the best help you can give is the kind that enables others to help themselves,” Traunfeld stated. “I’m impressed with how capable and enthusiastic the students are, especially with little kitchen experience.”

He also congratulates FareStart for their recognition from the James Beard Foundation. FareStart was awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award earlier this year. The recent accolade underscores the focus and dedication FareStart continues to bring to the community and food service industry.

Dinerware sought a way to bring two communities together in a way that would benefit all involved. Dinerware will act as financial sponsors for the Ryther adolescents, and Dinerware staff will be table servers for the Ryther group.

“Both Ryther and FareStart help people realize their untapped potential,” said Jeff Riley, Dinerware CEO. “We feel that Dinerware can make a small but meaningful difference by bringing these two together and serving them as our customers for a memorable evening of fine dining and inspiration.”

Seattle, August 23, 2011 – Inc. Magazine today ranked Dinerware, Inc. 2562 on its 30th annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs. Companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, Zipcar, Clif Bar, Oracle, and many other well-known names gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500.

“Dinerware has earned year-over-year growth since it was founded April 2000,” stated Jeff Riley, Chief Executive Officer, “Our growth continues to accelerate even amid worldwide economic challenges and we are pleased to be recognized on the Inc. 500 | 5000 list.”

Dinerware has seen growing demand for its products in North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Asia. Riley commented, “Our success with customers has been fueled by their word of mouth experience in using our products. Specifically, independent restaurateurs have appreciated how easy it is to take control of their business with lower training and support costs than other POS systems require, while expanding the flexibility and interoperability provided by other systems.” Dinerware offers an extensible, interoperable software platform to the hospitality industry. “Restaurateurs understand their businesses will change with social media and the rapid adoption of consumer mobile applications, and they don’t want to be locked into software that inhibits or limits their ability to change with the times and technology shifts, which they face on a daily basis,” stated Riley.

The Dinerware Virtual Client enables software developers to easily connect to the product and extend its capabilities. Hundreds of companies are currently engaged in offering Dinerware restaurateurs value added services such as mobile pay and marketing, reporting, inventory, time management, reservations and many other benefits.

The 2011 Inc. 5000, unveiled in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands August 23 to November 15 and on Inc.com), is a group of companies that are smaller but much faster-growing than last year’s crop. Aggregate revenue is $10.5 billion, with a median three-year growth of 1,275 percent. The companies on this year’s list employ more than 46,000 people and generated over 35,000 jobs in the past three years. Complete results of the Inc. 500, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found on Inc.com/inc5000.

About Inc. Magazine

Founded in 1979 and acquired in 2005 by Mansueto Ventures LLC, Inc. (www.inc.com) is the only major business magazine dedicated exclusively to owners and managers of growing private companies that delivers real solutions for today’s innovative company builders. With a total paid circulation of 710,106, Inc. provides hands-on tools and market-tested strategies for managing people, finances, sales, marketing, and technology. Visit us online at www.inc.com.

Methodology

The 2011 Inc. 500 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2007 to 2010. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2007. Additionally, they had to be based in the U.S., privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2010. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2007 is $100,000; the minimum for 2010 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500.

SEATTLE, WA — Dinerware, Inc., a leading developer of restaurant POS (point of sale) software, announced its certification of Tabbedout, a secure mobile payment solution that allows patrons to open, view and pay their tabs, for free, with a an iPhone or Android smartphone.

The certification allows Dinerware to expand its best-in-class POS platform and provides merchants with a mobile payment solution available through Dinerware version 3.0+ via the XML-based Application Programming Interface (API) supported in the Dinerware Virtual Client.

Tabbedout provides Dinerware merchants a way to improve staff efficiencies, eliminate credit card handling issues and enhance overall customer experience. With Tabbedout, the consumer shows their server a code from the Tabbedout mobile application to start a tab without the need for a physical credit card. The guest enjoys an added sense of security since their physical credit card stays with them at all times and their credit card information is encrypted securely on their mobile phone, within the Tabbedout application.

“Integrating with a POS leader like Dinerware expands the availability of our unique mobile payment solution to a broad network of bars and restaurants,” said Rick Orr, CEO, Tabbedout. “This is key to our vision to make mobile payments an everyday simple, secure process that allows customers to maximize their time out with friends while generating material new revenue for Tabbedout venues.”

Lanai Rooftop Lounge in Austin, TX recently incorporated Tabbedout in its Dinerware point-of-sale system. Lanai managers and servers found Tabbedout easy to use and also helped their staff be more efficient without requiring time-consuming training or additional equipment purchases. Tabbedout works seamlessly with the Dinerware restaurant point-of-sale system’s open platform so Lanai consumers are now able to open, view and pay their tabs at their convenience.

“Lanai Rooftop Lounge is focused on creating a unique guest experience which is only enhanced through Tabbedout. Enabling customers to start and settle tabs, when they want to, gives us more time to serve them and making sure they are having a great experience,” commented Lesliann Nemeth, general manager, Lanai Rooftop Lounge.

“The Dinerware open platform allows us to provide innovative add-on solutions like Tabbedout’s mobile payment solution,” stated Jeff Riley, Dinerware CEO. “As part of our mission, the team at Dinerware strives to provide our customers with complete control of their Dinerware POS platform. This includes giving our customers the ability to choose the technology partners they use to support their business without limitations being placed on them by Dinerware or our products. We certify these add-on products to help ensure customers that they can expect a high quality integration that works reliably over time.”

Jeff Riley will be presenting an education session titled “Building More Value into your Business” at the Retail Solution Providers Association’s RetailNow 2010 conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday, July 27th at 8:00am.

The session is for dealer members of the RSPA and is intended to provide attendees with a strategic framework to set valuation goals for their business, examine the current state of the VAR business with opportunities and challenges, and approaches for the development of an action plan for growing and increasing the profitability of their business over time.

This session will be Jeff’s fourth consecutive engagement with the RSPA in presenting original material at the RetailNow show based on his experience leading Dinerware’s growth over his six years as CEO. Dinerware has a unique position as a software developer because nearly one third of the company’s revenues still come from their own direct dealership business in the Pacific Northwest so Jeff understands the critical partnership dependency between software developer and value added reseller.

“There seem to be some disturbing trends facing dealers of retail systems these days. Customers want more value for less and no longer place the same value on services provided in the past. Dinerware is working hard to give dealers flexibility in designing their businesses to be more consultative and oriented toward system integration offerings to address end-to-end needs of restaurants,” Mr. Riley stated. He continued, “We don’t require our dealers to sell our add-ons, instead we provide an open platform for ISVs (independent software vendors) and technicians to deliver tailored solutions to each customer as needed. Regardless of whether dealers are interested in representing Dinerware in their market, we believe the future of the VAR business has less to do with exclusive and parochial vendor relationships and more to do with strategic IT outsourcing and integration services.”

Based on Jeff’s strong involvement with the RSPA, participation on the Education and Certification Committee, and contributions to the Vendor Working Group, he has been nominated as a candidate to serve on the RSPA’s Board of Directors. The membership vote for the RSPA Board takes place after the RetailNow keynote speech on Monday, July 26th.
