Anthony’s Homeport installs Dinerware in 18 locations
Seattle, WA— April 2nd, 2007— Dinerware, Inc., the Seattle-based leading developer of restaurant POS software, assisted a customer led deployment of its point-of-sale system in 18 of the 23 Anthony’s Restaurant locations, with plans to install two more in March 2007. Anthony’s Restaurants, owned by Mad Anthony’s Inc., decided to install Dinerware in all 23 locations after an exhaustive survey of the competition. While a relative newcomer to the restaurant point-of-sale software industry, it was Dinerware’s lower total cost of ownership and reliable technology that set it apart from the other restaurant POS software providers for Anthony's.
After careful consideration and input from the home office, general managers, and members of their wait staff, the project team lead, Geri Sellers, backed by CFO Ray Caldwell, and owner Budd Gould, decided to deploy Dinerware throughout all of Anthony’s restaurant locations. With Dinerware’s restaurant POS software, the General Managers at each Anthony’s location now have control of their POS system and can make their own menu changes, create new jobs, add employees, and access critical reports. This ability to take ownership of the software allows the operator to make changes quickly, and with less support.
Anthony’s Restaurants anticipates that using Dinerware products will save it $150,000 to $200,000 a year in service related costs. Also, the software itself communicates on a native TCI/IP network, was developed on Microsoft’s .NET framework, and utilizes the Microsoft SQL Server database. Each component is an industry standard, and increases the systems accuracy and reliability. Ray Caldwell (Anthony’s CFO) stated that, “as an organization, we are very concerned with the accuracy of information. We spent too much time with the previous system correcting errors and the data entry was difficult to work with – the ability to have accurate information without repair has been very helpful.”

Dinerware Reaches the 1,000 Site Milestone.
Seattle, WA. —January 19, 2007— Dinerware, a leading developer of restaurant point-of-sale software, announced today that it has surpassed the 1,000 customer milestone and now supports approximately one million customer visits per week at restaurant locations spread across North America. Focusing on the needs of independent restaurants and chains, Dinerware’s entry to the market became more broadly known during the summer of 2005 when Hospitality Technology Magazine rated Dinerware #1 in Total User Satisfaction in their annual POS Scoreboard.
This level of awareness combined with powerful word of mouth advertising caused Dinerware’s restaurant POS system to experience exponential growth in 2006 which very quickly propelled Dinerware’s customer beyond the one thousand mark. Dinerware customers consistently describe Dinerware as the most affordable and easiest system to use. In the words of customer Barry Rogel from the Deluxe Bar & Grill in Seattle’s Capital Hill neighborhood, “Dinerware is the most user friendly system we have worked with. With Dinerware, we are better able to meet the needs of our guests because the system facilitates communication that is vital to our business.”
Anthony’s Restaurants recently made the decision to put Dinerware into all 18 of their locations after a careful selection. Now that the rollout is complete, they are very pleased with the results. “By switching over to Dinerware, we anticipate saving over $150,000 dollars a year in system support costs alone. The system is easy to use (our management team and staff loves it), and the product just works beautifully,” said Anthony’s CFO, Ray Caldwell. Two additional locations will be added in March, 2007.
When asked to explain what has caused such an enthusiastic response to Dinerware’s restaurant POS system, CEO Jeff Riley said “We’ve seen an interesting trend developing in the restaurant community. Restaurateurs want to benefit from the promises of workflow automation, but they are tired of being held hostage by overly complex systems that require constant hand holding from their providers. Dinerware was designed to give full control of the system to the restaurant owner so he or she can make decisions and changes quickly without the need for expensive support contracts.”
Dinerware’s early success in North America is starting to turn heads oversees as well with customer sites now appearing in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Southeast Asia, and South Africa. Partnerships with resellers, third party application providers, and hardware manufactures also saw significant expansion in 2006, increasing the restaurant POS system’s marketability and functionality. Summing it up in the words of Dinerware’s founder and CTO, Carl English, “Our mission is to make technology approachable so restaurants can succeed.”

Dinerware rated #1 in Hospitality Technology 2005 POS Scoreboard
Dinerware, Inc., a leader in POS restaurant touch screen systems, is pleased to announce the ranking of #1 in Total User Satisfaction in Hospitality Technology Magazine’s 2005 POS Scoreboard. Dinerware also placed first in the categories of Total Cost of Ownership and Ease of Administration. The POS Scoreboard is published yearly by Hospitality Technology Magazine and is designed to give informative rankings as rated by restaurant and food operators.
Nearly 500 hundred restaurant operators voted in the 2005 POS Scoreboard with the vast majority coming from smaller restaurant companies. This year’s Scoreboard reflects a rise in industry awareness about the benefits regarding automation and the growing wide spread adoption of POS technology from small to large operators. “Technology is now available for restaurant operators who want to make quick menu changes and own a system that needs very little service or support,” says Jeff Riley (CEO), “We are honored that restaurants voted Dinerware #1 in satisfaction as it directly reflects our company’s progress in making restaurant POS much simpler and more effective than it has been in the past.”
With a growing number of restaurant operators moving to automate and looking for a system they can easily manage on their own, many say access to data and functionality are top considerations in purchasing a system. Erin Fetridge (owner - The Stumbling Goat Bistro) says, “We opened our restaurant with the old tradition of paper and a cash register. Having worked in larger operations, we already knew the benefits of POS, but never considered it due to the expense. Dinerware was the solution we could afford. Our system is reliable, needs little to no service, and is easy to maintain - as we frequently change menu items on our own. Dinerware has also contributed to our bottom line by increasing billing accuracy and reducing bookkeeping overhead. We can also readily analyze our sales in order to control our food costs while optimizing menu offerings.”
The Stumbling Goat is a business that represents the demographic (restaurant operators) who voted for the 2005 Hospitality POS Scoreboard.
